Beneficiaries
20% of the proceeds of the Wild West MS Walkabout will support the local research and wellness programs of the Colorado Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). There are several research grants currently underway right here in Colorado that are supported with these funds. For more information on the programs and services of the Colorado Chapter, please visit www.nationalmssociety.org/coc/.
Another 20% will support the Rocky Mountain MS Center. The mission of the Rocky Mountain MS Center is to help people living with MS and their families lead a quality life by providing individualized care, support, education and research. By combining patient care services, education and research into one comprehensive program, the MS Center greatly improves the quality of life for MS patients. This multi-faceted approach to chronic disease has served as a model for many other institutes around the country. Please visit www.mscenter.org for more information.
The remaining 60% will go directly to people in need who live with MS. Your participation will provide items including medical equipment, environmental modifications, ramps, and mobility devices as well as therapy services not covered by other sources. Grants of up to $1,000 will be made through the Center for Neurorehabilitation Services CNS Foundation and will be made directly to the provider of equipment and services. The CNS Foundation's Grants Committee is made up entirely of Walkabout organizers and participants. To find out more about the CNS Foundation and the Walkabout Grants Program, please visit the CNS website or contact Christy Dittmar.
